Annual Meeting & Spring Banquet: Send an email if you'd like the info. Generally held in the March/May timeframe.

Our 2004 Annual Meeting and Spring Banquet was held on Saturday evening, May 8th, 6:30 p.m. at Arvads in downtown Waterbury. You may review this year's minutes soon. The treasurer's report was approved.

The minutes contain updates on Waterbury Reservoir and Observer Law, but we hope to have a lengthier report on each in the near future.

Passing of Fellow Skier: Sid Davis informed us on April 3rd of the passing of Joe Livendale. "Joe and his family were active members of our Club when he was a member of our show ski team. His uncle was a professional announcer for one of our local radio stations and did some of the announcing for our shows. At the wake, Joe's father commented on how much the Club had done for the kids we had in the show and how much he appreciated it." We had about 20 people at one time just doing shows. It was a great family activity. Joe was 28 years old, a graduate of UVM and a mechanical engineer. Memorial contributions may be made to the Joseph Alan Livendale Scholarship Fund, Spaulding High School, c/o Rena Lavin, 155 Ayers Street, Barre, VT 05641.

2004 Observer Law Update: Bill was sponsored again and testimony was presented. The committee did not take a vote. In informal discussion with Rep. Brooks and Lobbyist Scholdice after the meeting, it was noted that giving the committee some options such as requiring a boater safety course with use of a mirror and/or a minimum age might help them feel more comfortable in voting positively for the bill.

An attempt to pass this bill has been made for each of the past five years. Please see more detail.

2004 Waterbury Reservoir Update: The State of Vermont continues to work on the Waterbury Reservoir dam. The water level is approximately 40' to 45' below the normal level. The reservoir is significantly reduced in size but very nicely usable for our slalom course. The plan is to complete work within the next year and have a full reservoir in 2005.

Passing of Fellow Skier: Tom Costello passed away on August 21, 2003. He was the son of Fred Costello, both skiers.

Club Address: See below for the Green Mountain Water Skiers' address. Please check before mailing anything to the Club to see that you have the current address as this will periodically change with the election of officers.

Hi,

I'm the Fundraising Chairman for the Association for Sr. Seniors in the Poughkeepsie, NY area.

I would like to inquire whether your group can be hired to put on a show for ASC's fundraising either on the Hudson River or at a lake nearby.

If this arrangement is possible, could you please respond either by phone (386-441-3034) or email.

Yours truly,
Richard J. Gunther
